Low-Lead Free-Cutting Brass
CW617N, CuZn40Pb2
CW617N, designated CuZn40Pb2, is a commonly used brass alloy for machining applications where a lower lead content is required compared to CW614N. With approximately 2% lead, the alloy maintains good machinability, making it suitable for high-volume production of precision-turned components.
Typical applications include screws, bolts, nuts, gears, fittings, and components used in electrical connectors—essentially the same areas of use as CW614N, but with the advantage of reduced lead content for improved compliance with modern material requirements.
The alloy is not dezincification-resistant and should not be used in environments exposed to aggressive water or elevated corrosion risk.
With decades of expertise and cutting-edge technology, we produce high-quality parts that ensure durability, strength, and optimal performance.
