CW511L, also known as CuZn38As, is a lead-free brass alloy designed for applications that require high corrosion resistance and compliance with drinking water regulations. With its low lead content and arsenic addition, the alloy is dezincification-resistant (DZR), making it ideal for components exposed to aggressive water environments.
CW511L combines good mechanical strength with decent machinability, and can be hot forged, turned, milled, and shaped into complex parts. It is widely used for valves, fittings, and other components in the plumbing, heating, and sanitary industries.
This environmentally friendly alloy meets modern EU drinking water standards and offers a sustainable alternative to traditional free-cutting brasses containing lead.
